Monstrance - Ostensoir Charles X, Paris 1819-1838, sterling silver and vermeil
Sumptuous sun monstrance from the Charles X period in sterling silver and vermeil with the Paris hallmark for the period 1819-1838. On a rectangular base, it develops 82 cm in height. The decorations covering its surface are typical for the Restoration style. The heads of cherubs are of great finesse as are the abundant ears of wheat and other bunches of grapes. This impressive masterpiece is hallmarked in several places with the "old man's head" and the master silversmith's mark. Weight 1750 grams.
